A 20-year-old Miami cyclist died in a hit-and-run. Cameras caught the vehicle, cops say

A hit-and-run driver left a cyclist dead after a crash in Northeast Miami-Dade near Ives Dairy Road Sunday morning, Miami-Dade police say.

Maria Araujo Muniz de Souza was 20.

Araujo was riding east on Northeast 205th Terrace, a road that runs parallel and next to Ives Dairy Road, police say, when the driver smashed into her at the intersection of 14th Terrace. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took Araujo to Aventura Trauma Center, where she died.

Police released surveillance camera photos of what they say is the driver’s vehicle, a 2007 to 2013 Toyota Tundra pickup truck, four doors, gold in color.
