One man killed, one woman injured in a Broward nightclub shooting, BSO says

THURSDAY JULY 6 UPDATE: The name of the man killed has been released as well as a reward offer.

An overnight shooting at a Lauderdale Lakes strip mall nightclub killed one man and sent a woman to a hospital, the Broward Sheriff’s Office said.

Fort Lauderdale resident Travis Turner was 29 years old.

The shooting happened around 2:19 a.m. at Vypz Lounge, 4260 N. State Road 7. Turner died at the club. BSO deputies learned about the woman as she was in a hospital with injuries BSO described as “not life threatening.”
