A Miami spa owner was arrested Wednesday after being accused of using her business as a front for prostitution.

Indiana Bustamante, 54, was charged with deriving support from prostitution, unlawful use of a communications device, maintaining a house of prostitution and renting space for prostitution. The Miami Beach resident was the owner of Divas Spa, located at 3939 NW 7th St. in Flagami.

The spa, which is now permanently closed, described itself on Google as “an erotic massage parlor” that “offers all kinds of stress reducing packages.” The business’ profile also said that its employees would “escort you to levels of relaxation that you didn’t know were possible.”

During the investigation, officers spotted Bustamante sitting in a gray Toyota Camry in the shopping center’s parking lot. They frequently saw women exiting the spa at random times and approaching Bustamante’s car.

Then an officer messaged a number advertised on a website known for escorting and prostitution to schedule an appointment for Wednesday afternoon, according to police.

When the undercover investigator entered Divas Spa, he paid an employee $140 for a half-an-hour massage, police say. When he asked how much for sex, the employee said it would cost him an additional $110.

The officer handed over the cash. As an employee went to get condoms, that’s when police busted the spa.

Employees then told police that half of their profits from massages and sexual services went to Bustamante, who scheduled their appointments. They also said that Bustamante sometimes sold them condoms for a $1 each.

Bustamante is no longer being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. Miami police and the Miami-Dade State Attorney’s Office Human Trafficking Task Force investigated the case.
