Father and rapper killed in triple shooting inside a South Beach nightclub, cops say
An overnight shooting at a South Beach nightclub killed a man Sunday morning and hospitalized two women, Miami Beach police said.
The man was Pasadena, California’s Lowell Grissom Jr., a 37-year-old father and rapper known as Young Lo and Everybody Knows Lo.
In addition to doing his own music and being a talent scout for Makasound Records, Grissom worked with other artists, including Chris Brown. Brown posted “love you bro, Rest Up MY BROTHER” to the stories on his Instagram account.
As of Monday evening, one of the women was released while the other remained at Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition, Miami Beach police said. Both asked Miami Beach police to withhold their names.
The three people were hit just before 4 a.m. Sunday inside 235 23rd St., the address for Gala Miami. All three people were taken to Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center, where Grissom died.
Anyone knowing anything about this shooting can reach out to Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys via the website or 305-471-8477 (TIPS).
