Man, woman shot in Miami’s Liberty Square area
A man in his 20s and a woman in her 40s were shot near Northwest 15th Avenue and 70th Street in Miami Wednesday night.
Miami police said they were alerted to the shooting by 911 calls and a Shotspotter, an electronic device that records gunfire sounds.
Police Detective Kenia Fallat said the two victims were in stable condition, and the man was shot in the leg. As many as nine bullets may have been fired.
Investigators were still scouring the crime scene and interviewing residents late Wednesday. Police gave no description of the shooter or a vehicle.
This is the latest in a rash of shootings in the 13-block area surrounding the Liberty Square housing project.
