A BMW driver was shot as he entered the Palmetto Expressway in Doral, FHP says

An overnight shooting on a Palmetto Expressway entrance hospitalized a man with multiple gunshot wounds and “serious injuries,” the Florida Highway Patrol said.

The ensuing investigation of the 2:20 a.m. shooting in Doral, on the outskirts of the Miami International Airport business area, closed the ramp from eastbound Northwest 36th Street to southbound State Road 826 into Thursday morning’s rush hour.

According to FHP Lt. Alex Camacho, a BMW SUV driver was taking the ramp when a silver car or SUV pulled up alongside and someone in the latter car fired at the driver. He was taken to Kendall Regional Trauma Center.

Anyone who knows anything about the shooting can contact FHP by dialing *FHP (*347) or contact Crime Stoppers of Miami-Dade and the Florida Keys online or at 305-471-8477 (TIPS).
