Officers and fire rescue workers who arrived at 615 NW 18th Ave. Tuesday afternoon in Little Havana found an orange moving truck slammed into a small, pale blue house and the truck’s driver pinned inside.

After Miami Fire Rescue extricated Delvis Gonzalez, police arrested him on charges of second degree grand theft and having no drivers’ license. The 46-year-old Gonzalez, standing 5-foot-6 and weighing 250 pounds, is not one of College Hunks Hauling Junk, the company that owns the truck.

In fact, online court records say Gonzalez was on house arrest. After a Jan. 19 arrest on charges of burglary and petit theft, Gonzalez posted $6,000 bond on Feb. 3.

College Hunks has a parking lot at Northwest Seventh Street and 18th Place, half a block north and one block west of the house the truck crashed into around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.

Before hitting the house, the truck careened off a white sedan, sending it into a signpost on Northwest 18th Avenue.
