Broward Sheriff Gregory Tony told media at the scene that pursuit of the suspect from an Oakland Park TD Bank, 3785 N. Federal Hwy., ended with the suspect crashing in the 400 block of East Atlantic Boulevard. In the exchange of gunfire between the suspect and four deputies, the suspect was killed. His name has yet to be released.

Video acquired by WSVN-Channel 7 showed BSO personnel firing from behind marked vehicles as shots were heard coming from elsewhere.

The Florida Department of Law Enforcement will investigate the shooting, as is standard.
