Two people die after three are shot overnight near Miami restaurants, police say
One person died near an Allapattah restaurant and another died at Jackson Memorial Hospital after three people were shot in Sunday’s first hours, according to Miami police.
On Tuesday, police identified the deceased as Marlon Javier Machado Chavez, 44, and Josue Quintero, 18. Each victim’s family started a GoFundMe page.
The third person was in stable condition at Jackson’s Ryder Trauma Center as of Sunday, Miami police said.
Two ShotSpotter alerts around 1:30 a.m. brought Miami Fire Rescue to 2146 NW 36th St. That’s the address of La Nueva Banana, but also nearby is Gallito’s Cafe Restaurant & Lounge. Once there, fire rescue workers found the three people shot outside.
