The family of a 31-year-old man wants to know what happened to him before he was found last month with inexplicable injuries in the shower of his southwest Miami-Dade apartment.

James Alston was discovered critically injured at The Princeton Grove Apartments located at 25151 SW 130th Ave. in the afternoon of Oct. 4, according to Miami-Dade police.

During a Wednesday morning press conference at police headquarters, Alston’s family detailed that he was found in the shower with broken bones in his face, head and ribs, and asked the public’s help to find out what happened to their beloved brother and son.

Police say they found Alston unconscious with blunt force trauma to his body. He was transported to the hospital where he died three days later, NBC 6 reported.

“Someone knows what happened to him,” Trienice Alston, his sister, told reporters. “They also need to know that James was loved and he loved others.”

The sister also noted that her brother had schizophrenia and learning disabilities.

“James did not deserve to be critically injured,” she said.

Anyone with information about Alston’s death is urged to call Detective S. Hubbard of the Miami-Dade Police Department at 305-471-2400. To remain anonymous, people may contact Miami-Dade County Crime Stoppers by calling 305)-471-8477 or visiting crimestoppers305.com.
