Teen accused of crashing BMW at 151 mph, killing six in Palm Beach County, authorities say
An 18-year-old was arrested Wednesday, accused of crashing a BMW into an SUV at 151 mph — killing six onboard in Palm Beach County earlier this year, authorities announced.
Noah Galle, who was 17 at the time of the crash, was taken into custody and charged with six counts of vehicular homicide, Major Talal Masri of the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday in a press conference.
“It’s unfortunate that too many people drive recklessly in our roadways and put lives at risk,” Palm Beach State Attorney Dave Aronberg said. “You can’t have a safe community without having safe streets.”
Late at night Jan. 27, the Wellington teen was speeding in a white BMW M5 northbound in the 14000 block of South State Road 7 (U.S. 441) in west Delray Beach when it rear-ended a grey Nissan Rogue, according to a report from the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office.
After the crash, the Nissan spun, went down into the center median and flipped — ejecting three people, according to the sheriff’s office.
Five died on the scene and a sixth died in a hospital. Of them, at least three were not wearing seat belts, according to the report.
Those killed were Mirlaine I. Julceus, 44, of West Palm Beach; Filaine Dieu, 45, of Lake Worth Beach; Vanice Percina, 28, of West Palm Beach; Remize Michel, 52, of Palm Springs; Marie M. Louis, of Wellington; and Saint L. Michel, of Lake Worth, according to the sheriff’s office. All six were leaving their jobs at a farm when the crash occurred, Masri said.
Deputies did not find marks on the road showing that the uninjured teen attempted to stop the BMW before crashing, Masri said. Toxicology reports did not show Galle was intoxicated, he said, adding that speeding was the reason for the crash.
Efforts to contact Galle or his attorney were unsuccessful.
Authorities did not provide additional information.
