Man killed in shooting just off Calle Ocho identified as South Miami-Dade husband

SUNDAY AFTERNOON UPDATE: Crime Stoppers of Miami identified the man as William Negrin.

Miami property records say Negrin, 50, owns a home in Palmetto Bay with his wife, Claudia Negrin.

Miami police Officer Michael Vega said a 3:21 a.m. ShotSpotter alert brought Miami Fire Rescue to an area of Little Havana south of Southwest Eighth Street (Calle Ocho) on Southwest 13th Avenue, where they found Negrin. He died after being taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
