FHP said the shooting stemmed from a road rage incident around 12:55 p.m. between a blue Honda Civic and a gray Chevrolet sedan in the turnpike southbound lanes.

The man driving the Honda told FHP that the Chevrolet driver tried to cut him off, but he wouldn’t let that happen. So the Chevy driver rolled up on the emergency shoulder and shots came from the Chevy’s passenger window into the driver’s side of the Honda.

The Honda’s driver was hit in the right forearm and the woman in the passenger seat was hit in the left arm.

They managed to drive down to Miami-Dade Police Department’s Northside station, 799 NW 81st St. From there, they were taken to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital.
