Cyclist’s hit-and-run death closes street during Monday’s rush hour, Miami police say
A hit-and-run driver killed a man in his 40s riding his bicycle Monday morning on Northwest 12th Avenue, Miami police said.
An investigation of the crash, at Northwest 12th Avenue and 51st Street, shut down 12th Avenue from 48th to 52nd streets from 6:45 a.m. until about 9:55 a.m.
Police said the cyclist was taken the 2.3 miles south to Ryder Trauma Center at Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he died.
The car involved is described by police as a black 2014 to 2016 Nissan Rogue with front end damage.
