Christopher Proby, 35, to 30 years in prison for sex trafficking a minor and for participating in the armed robbery of a Riviera Beach plumber.

A South Florida man who pleaded guilty to sex trafficking a 14-year-old girl and participating in an armed robbery of a plumber in Riviera Beach will serve 30 years in a prison, a federal judge in Miami ruled last week, according to a news release on Monday from the U.S. Attorney’s Office.

After serving his sentence, Christopher Proby will also be on supervised released for the rest of life.

The 35-year-old pleaded guilty to sex trafficking of a minor and brandishing a firearm during a crime in September, records show.

Per the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Proby struck up a sexual conversation with a 14-year-old on social media in December 2017. The teen ran away from her foster home in January 2018 and met Proby for sex in Riviera Beach, authorities said.

Proby then posted an advertisement on social media offering the teen up for sex acts, the U.S. Attorney’s Office said. He “communicated with them by text message to arrange a price, meeting location, and specify the sex acts that the minor would perform,” the office added in a news release. “Proby drove the minor to meet with these men to engage in commercial sex acts, and took any money that she earned.”

Additionally, Proby conspired with two other men in the robbery of a Roto-Rooter plumber in Riviera Beach.

According to an indictment, Proby, along with Jamal Lamar Head and Keon Travy Glanton, forced the teen to place a service call to Roto-Rooter in July 2018.

When the plumber showed up at an abandoned home in Riviera Beach, Head allegedly assaulted him with a firearm — while Proby and Glanton took equipment from his vehicle.

Head was previously sentenced to 60 years in prison and Glanton was sentenced to 33 years for their role in the Riviera Beach robbery and other crimes including the murder of a different plumber in Miami Lakes, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
