Employees forced to strip, drive getaway car in Sunrise robbery

Three armed men made off with $175 from a Sunrise GameStop after ordering one employee to strip and kidnapping another employee in their escape.

According to the Plantation Police Department, at 12:45 p.m Tuesday, a man with a handgun entered the GameStop in the 8000 block of West Sunrise Boulevard. After ordering the employee to the back room to remove his shirt and pants, the suspect fled out of the emergency exit with $100, setting off an alarm.

A second GameStop employee had been at a nearby Regents Bank getting change for the store when he was approached by the other two suspects, who had been parked in a red truck. Police say the two men, also armed with a handgun, ordered the employee into his own car to drive around the rear of the store and pick up the third suspect. The employee was then forced to drive two of the suspects to an apartment complex about four miles away behind Lauderhill Mall, where they escaped with the money withdrawn from the bank.

One suspect was described as black male who had been wearing dark clothing and dark sneakers with orange shoe laces, and another was a black male with tattoos on his eyelids. Police did not release a detailed description of the third man. Surveillance footage is available from Plantation police.
