Domestic violence ends with three people dead at a Wendy’s drive-thru in Broward

A woman at a Hallandale Beach Wendy’s and the passenger in her car were shot dead Tuesday by the ex-boyfriend she recently left because of his “increasingly violent behavior,” Hallandale Beach police said Tuesday evening.

The ex-boyfriend then turned his gun on himself, police said. His body was found near her car.

The names of the woman and her passenger were withheld by police under Marsy’s Law. The gunman’s next of kin had yet to be identified as of Tuesday evening.

Police say the gunman found his ex-girlfriend around 12:48 a.m. at the drive-thru of the fast food restaurant at 1091 Hallandale Beach Blvd., yards from the Interstate 95 northbound exit. He rammed her car with his, then jumped out and began firing as she tried to reverse away from him; his shots hit her and her passenger, according to police.
