Miami-Dade man accused of stabbing girlfriend, threatening driver with gun

Jorge Borda stabbed his girlfriend, threatened a driver after a hit-and-run, then disappeared for a week, police say.

On Tuesday, Miami-Dade oolice caught up with him. He was arrested and jailed on multiple felony charges. Here’s what happened, police say:

On Sept. 24, Borda, 33, entered his girlfriend’s home in Kendall and stabbed her several times in her sleep. The girlfriend, who police did not identify, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

A day later, Borda was involved in a hit-and-run with another car. The driver followed and Borda tried to evade him by parking between two cars. When the driver tried to block him from leaving, Borda threatened him with a gun.

A witness who saw the exchange later found Borda’s car and called police.

Around 9 p.m. Tuesday, officers found Borda and arrested him on charges of attempted murder, armed burglary with battery and aggravated assault with a firearm.
