One dead after overnight shooting in the Brickell area, Miami police say

A man was fatally shot in Miami’s Brickell area around 2 a.m. Sunday, Miami police said.

Residents in the area heard four or five shots. When officers answered a call that a man had been shot, they found him near the intersection of Southwest 17th Street and Second Avenue. He never regained consciousness.

Also near the intersection: a soft gold SUV with a shattered driver’s side window.
