Hollywood teen dies after shooting at a 7-Eleven. Miami-Dade man charged with murder

A Monday afternoon argument outside a Northeast Miami-Dade 7-Eleven escalated into a shooting that killed a Hollywood teenager, Miami-Dade police say.

Jeffrey Dumersaint turned 19 only 19 days before his death.

Dumersaint was shot multiple times outside the 7-Eleven at 1000 NE 215th St., at 3:30 p.m. Miami-Dade police say. He stumbled next door to Fancy Loaf Caribbean Bakery and Restaurant, 1014 NE 215th St., and collapsed outside, where he was declared dead.

Meanwhile, 32-year-old Robert Caleb ran but was arrested a few blocks south of the shooting scene. Caleb is charged with first-degree murder.

It was not immediately clear what the men were fighting about or if they knew each other.

Miami-Dade police said two cars crashed on Northeast 215th Street as they tried to avoid the bullets. The crashes didn’t injure anyone and didn’t include anyone involved in the shooting.
