Vaughn was seen getting body armor from a pickup truck and he had an AK-47 inside a Ford Mustang nearby, police say. When he was arrested, officers found a handgun on him.

After being taken to Broward Health Medical Center as a precaution, the decision was made to charge him, police say.

Vaughn has been charged with three counts of aggravated assault on an officer and one count each of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, carrying a concealed firearm, open carry of a firearm, reckless display of a firearm and resisting without violence.
