Man fatally shot inside Coconut Grove apartment; gunman still on the loose, police say

Miami police on Wednesday morning continued to search for a gunman in an overnight shooting that left a man dying inside a Coconut Grove apartment.

Details were scarce, but police said the shooting happened just after 1 a.m., inside an apartment at a two-floor complex at 3395 Grand Ave. The victim, whom police described as an adult male, was transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital, where he later died.

Miami Police Detective Kenia Fallat said the victim was shot more than once. He had not been named by midmorning. She said police were trying to piece together a motive and had no or little information on the shooter.

Anyone with information on the shooting should call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-1900.

This story will be updated as more information becomes available.
