Two teens injured by shooting Sunday in Broward. Cops do not have a suspect in custody.

Two teen girls were injured Sunday in Lauderhill after being shot by a man who they told police they did not know.

The investigation is still active and the Lauderhill Police Department doesn’t have a suspect in custody, said Lt. Michael Santiago, a department spokesperson.

Both victims were taken to Broward Health Medical Center. The 14-year-old was previously in serious condition, but was stable on Monday afternoon, Santiago said.

The 16-year-old was treated and released. She told CBS4 she didn’t know why they were targeted.

“He says something fast and I couldn’t hear it what he said and then I look and when I turn the other way he shot me twice,” she said in a CBS4 interview. “I guess my friend she was shocked and she didn’t know what was going on.”

She added that her friend tripped and was shot in the back.

Anyone with information should call Lauderhill police or Crime Stoppers at (954) 493-TIPS (8477).
