‘She snapped’: Watch a fight break out at a Chicken Kitchen in downtown Miami

Chaos broke out in the Chicken Kitchen in downtown Miami Monday.

Witness Jojo Messina told the Miami Herald that a man and woman entered the restaurant at 140 NE Second Ave. and went straight to the bathroom. But it was apparently locked.

“She couldn’t open the door and got really mad,” Messina said. “The cashier said it was only for customers, and she, like, snapped.”

Video shows the woman screaming something inaudible at a server, who is off camera.

The patron’s companion is then seen throwing a tip jar across the counter.

Que le pasa?” yells a woman behind the counter. Translation: “What’s wrong with you?”

“Let’s go, b----!” yells the woman in pink.

The angry duo exit the fast-casual restaurant, but not before the man stops at the door to give the staff the finger with both hands.

The Chicken Kitchen manager could not be reached for comment on Wednesday morning.

Jennifer Valoppi, who owns Chicken Kitchen with her husband, Christian de Berdouare, shed some light on what occurred.

“There was a misunderstanding with some customers who were trying to get into the bathroom, but the code on the door wouldn’t work because someone was already inside,” she wrote in an email Wednesday afternoon. “The couple then started assaulting our female cashier — first, the female customer threw coins, then she threw mustard and curry all over her. Then the man threw the tip jar at the cashier. Fortunately, he missed and the cashier wasn’t hurt.”

After the couple left, staff opted not to escalate the situation and did not call the police, Valoppi added.
