2 wounded in drive-by shooting in Miami-Dade Gladeview neighborhood

Two men were taken to the hospital with gunshot wounds after police say they were shot at several times early Monday in the Gladeview neighborhood of Miami-Dade.

The drive-by shooting happened in the area of 7382 NW 22nd Ave. at 3:14 a.m., according to Miami-Dade police. The area is near Northwest 79th Street and a few minutes away from Gwen Cherry Park.

Video taken by Miami Herald news partner CBS4 shows police tape surrounding a fenced lot where a black car with a bullet hole through the driver’s side window is parked.

Police say they found the two injured men while responding to a ShotSpotter report of gunfire in the area. One of them was hit by gunfire multiple times in his upper torso, according to police. The other was struck in his leg.

Both men were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Miami-Dade police previously said that one of the men had died at the hospital from his injuries. Miami-Dade Det. Angel Rodriguez later said during a 10:30 a.m. update that officers learned the man was alive.

Both men remain hospitalized and are in critical condition, Rodriguez said.

Police have not disclosed the identity of the two men and say they don’t have any suspect information at this time.

Anyone who might know something about the shooting is asked to call police.
