Miami police detain six people in connection with a shooting near The Grand condomium

Miami police are investigating a shooting near the Omni district on Tuesday afternoon.

Shortly after 2 p.m., police received reports of several shots fired in the area of North Bayshore Drive and Northeast 17th Street, a few blocks from the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts and near The Grand condominium, Miami police said.

No one was injured, but police did say five or six people were detained after trying to leave the area in a car. One person ran into a garage and was later detained.

The suspects have not yet been arrested. Police believe they are connected to the shooting and are continuing to investigate. No weapon has been found and police believe they have detained everyone involved.

Police say there is at least one victim, who wasn’t shot but was near the area where the shooting occurred.
