He was playing MLK Jr.’s ‘I Have A Dream’ speech. Two men decided to fight him, reports say

Two men were arrested after they were accused of pushing a man who was playing Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream speech” in a Miami park, according to reports.

At 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Miami police were called to a possible assault in the area of 3401 NE First Ave., Miami police said. A large crowd was gathered and the victim was in the middle of the field when two men approached him.

They began arguing and then one of the two men punched the victim while the other pushed him. The pair were arrested.

Miami police did not release any of the men’s names.

Local 10 News spoke with Barbara Ortiz who said she witnessed the fight. She said the victim, a black man, was playing Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I Have A Dream” speech loudly.

That’s when the two men, who she says were white, came up and attacked him.

“It is freedom of speech and he has every right to peacefully say his opinion or broadcast whatever he wants,” Ortiz told Local 10. “You don’t go over and punch somebody. I mean that is very offensive.”
