Man injured during police-involved shooting in Fort Lauderdale

A Fort Lauderdale police-involved shooting Monday night left a man injured and rushed to a Broward hospital, police said.

Fort Lauderdale police responded to a call at about 7 p.m. Monday of shots fired and an aggravated assault, said Detective Ali Adamson, a police spokeswoman.

After arriving at the scene in the 600 block of Northeast 14th Street, officers saw a man with a gun.

“This ultimately led to an officer-involved shooting,” Adamson wrote in an email.

Fort Lauderdale Fire Rescue took the injured man, whom police did not identify, to Broward Health Medical Center.

No other information was immediately available.
