A man tried to abduct a woman while she was jogging, cops say. He’s still on the loose.
While jogging in the rain, a woman was almost abducted in Hollywood on Tuesday, police said. The man who ran after her hasn’t been caught.
At about 2:30 p.m., a woman was jogging in the area of 1400 Polk Street. When she was coming up on Taylor Street, a man driving a royal blue four-door sedan parked between Taylor and Filmore streets and called out to her, Hollywood police said.
“Hey, it is raining. Would you like a ride?” the man said, according to police.
The woman refused and kept jogging, but he followed her and parked his car on a different part of the street. He got out and started running after her. She was able to get away and call police.
He was described as a man aged 35-40, about 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He’s unshaven with “messed up teeth” and brown hair. He was last seen wearing teal hospital scrubs.
Hollywood police are still investigating and detectives are asking anyone who may have information to call the Hollywood Police Department at 954-764-4357 or 954-967-4411. Tips can also be emailed to hollywoodpdtips@hollywoodfl.org.
