17-year-old boy killed, two others injured in Florida City shooting, police say

A triple shooting in Florida City killed a 17-year-old Homestead boy, Miami-Dade police say.

According to social media and a GoFundMe page set up by the family, the 17-year-old was Francis Hilaire.

Multiple gunshots fired produced a call to police at 6:41 p.m. Francis was declared dead on the scene when officers arrived at the area of Northwest 13th Street and Eighth Place. The other two victims, both males, were taken to a nearby hospital in stable condition.

Though Florida City has its own police department, Miami-Dade investigates all homicides in the city. Anyone with any information can reach Crimestoppers of Miami at 305-471-8477 (TIPS) or at the Crimestoppers of Miami website.
