Two gunmen kill woman, wound man in an ambush attack on a parked car in Opa-locka

Two gunmen walked up and opened fire on a parked car in Opa-locka early Thursday, killing a woman and critically injuring a man, authorities said.

Miami-Dade homicide detectives are now looking to identify the gunmen, who ambushed the black Mazda 3 at about 8 a.m. in a cul-de-sac at Northwest 133rd Street and 31st Avenue.

Killed in the attack was Alexus Lepearl Charles, 27, the passenger in the car, multiple sources said. She and the unidentified driver were rushed to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center, according to Opa-locka Police Chief James Dobson.
