Cops search for the ‘dangerous’ person or people behind a fatal shooting in Liberty City

It was not even dark yet when someone opened fire at the Lincoln Fields Apartments in Liberty City Saturday.

By the time the bullets stopped, two men were gravely wounded.

One, 21-year-old Dae’yun D. Solomon, did not survive and was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other unidentified man remains at Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center in critical condition.

On Monday, police pleaded with the community for information that would lead them to the shooter or shooters.

“This happened while the sun was still up,” said Angel Rodriguez, a police spokesman. “The individual or individuals involved are very dangerous and are a threat to the community. We need to make an arrest in the case.”

The shooting happened just after 7 p.m. in the area of 2020 NW 66th St.

Rodriguez said it wasn’t yet clear what the motive was or whether a vehicle was involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS (8477).
