Cops trying to link 2 wounded men who drove to Jackson hospital to gunfire in Liberty City

Two wounded men showed up at Jackson Memorial Hospital late Monday night in a car that appeared to have bullet holes, prompting police to set up a crime scene outside the trauma center, cops said.

Meanwhile, police received ShotSpotter alerts in the area of Northwest 17th Avenue and 50th Street in Liberty City. There may have been up to 30 shots, police said.

Cops were trying to link the two late into the night.

News cameras showed yellow tape surrounding Ryder Trauma Center with several officers investigating.

Police say one of the men was shot in the leg and the other was shot in the torso and both arms. Both were expected to survive.

It was not clear if there were other people inside the car that showed up just after 9 p.m.. Police were searching around the hospital.

No other information was immediately available.
