The encounter would turn deadly.
Police say someone opened fire on Sanders after an altercation April 9 and then took off.
On Friday, Fort Lauderdale police announced an arrest. William Huff, 67, was arrested on a murder charge and was being held in Broward’s Main Jail with no bond.
Sanders, 45, of Oakland Park, was shot “multiple times” and was rushed to Broward Health Medical Center, where he died.
According to police, the shooting happened just before 7:30 p.m. at 1708 NW Sixth St.
It was not known if the victim knew the killer. No other information about what led police to Huff was released.
