He fatally shot a father of four in Miramar, cops say. Now he’s in police custody

Miramar police issued an arrest warrant for Frederick Eugene, who’s suspected of murdering a 31-year-old father of four.

Thursday, the department asked for the community’s help in finding him. By Thursday night, the department said Eugene, 33, had turned himself in and was in custody.

Police say Eugene fatally shot Jimmy Fleurimond in the early morning of Jan. 31. The incident happened near the 6300 block of Southwest 27th Street in Miramar.

It’s unclear why Eugene shot Fleurimond.

Officers say Fleurimond, whose youngest was a four-month-old daughter, worked as a chef.

Miami-Dade court records show Eugene was convicted of armed robbery in 2008 and had multiple probation violations, the most recent of which occurred in 2012.
