He got naked in a store after trying to smuggle meat in his pants, cops say. It got worse.
Ending up in your birthday suit on Valentine’s Day is often the sign of a holiday well spent — that is, unless you’re inside a grocery store.
Stefan Short, 28, faces several charges after trying to smuggle steak in his pants from a store and stripping naked when it didn’t work, according to the Deland Police Department.
The incident happened Thursday evening at a Save-A-Lot in Deland in Central Florida. Police say a witness noticed Short stuffing the meat down his pants and went to notify the manager. The two then confronted Short. That’s when things got ugly.
“You come in here and steal all the time,” the manager said, according to another witness. “You are not getting away this time.”
The trio began to wrestle. What happened next resembled a X-rated WWE match.
“Short removed his clothing and was able to break free from their grasp,” the officer wrote.
The 28-year-old then headed for the store’s front door where he had a surprise waiting for him.
“He ran into me and I deployed my taser,” the officer continued.
One taser probe latched onto Short’s abdomen while the other landed in “the base of his penis,” police said. He was taken to the hospital where medical officials removed the probe from his genitals.
Court records show Short was booked into a Volusia County jail the following day on resisting arrest, resisting a store employee during theft and first-degree petty theft charges. He pleaded no contest.
A brief review of Short’s past criminal history shows numerous open cases for a variety of misdemeanors including retail theft, trespassing, criminal mischief and domestic violence battery.
