Broward deputies search for suspect after a shooting leaves one man dead

Broward Sheriff’s Office homicide detectives are investigating a shooting that left a 23-year-old man dead Saturday afternoon in Lauderdale Lakes.

A caller contacted the authorities at 4:43 p.m. Saturday to report the shooting, according to a police news release.

Deputies arrived at the house at 3248 NW 37th St. in Lauderdale Lakes shortly after the call. They found a victim, identified as Luis Rodriguez, with a gunshot wound. He died at the scene.

Detectives are investigating the incident as a homicide. The suspect is still at large.
