One dead after hit-and-run crash in Hialeah, fire-rescue says

Police are investigating a fatal hit-and-run crash in Hialeah on Thursday morning.

The crash happened around 6 a.m. at the intersection of East First Avenue and Ninth Street.

A man, who appeared to be in his late 40s or early 50s, died in the accident, according to Hialeah Fire Rescue.

Helicopter video taken by Local 10 shows police surrounding a white car with heavy front-end damage.

Police have shut down the area for the investigation.

Drivers are asked to seek alternate routes.

No other information was immediately available.
