Cyclist’s death near bicycle shop investigated by North Miami Beach police as a homicide
A leader of a North Miami Beach cycling group was killed Sunday morning outside the bicycle shop that was the group’s gathering spot.
The death of Clifton Cargill, 51, was announced by former Jamaica national team cyclist Michael Butler on his cycling group Butler’s Ride for Life Facebook page.
Cargill was the victim of the homicide North Miami Beach police said they were investigating in the alley between 19th Avenue and 20th Avenue near Bell’s Bicycles, 1951 NE 163rd St. Cargill’s group, Dutty Rida’s, met at the bicycle shop for their rides.
State records say Cargill was one of Dutty Rida’s founders in 2016.
