Man with red underwear seen stealing packages from Miami porches, police say

Miami police released video of a man you may not immediately recognize unless he happens to bend over in his baggy pants.

That’s when you can’t help but notice he’s sporting red underwear.

Police say the man was seen stealing packages from at least two homes in the area of Miami’s Northwest 31st Avenue and Fourth Street on Dec. 5.

A Ring surveillance camera at one of the homes shows the man — who does, at one point, face the camera — as he bends over to grab and walk off with a package.

At about 3 p.m. that day, the homeowner’s surveillance footage showed a gray four-door sedan with a sunroof and silver rims park in front of the house. The man is seen walking onto the victim’s front yard and porch. He then picks up the packages, walks back to his car, and tosses them through the passenger front window and drives off.

Police say the packages contained Christmas family photo cards and miscellaneous items valued at more than $200.

Right after, the man and his car are captured by another surveillance camera as he takes another package from another house, Miami police said.

He is described as a white male, aged 30 to 45.

In addition to his red drawers and gray shorts and black flip-flops on that day, the man has tattoos on both arms and legs. If you recognize him, police ask that you call 305-579-6111 or visit CrimeStoppersMiami.com.
