Pensacola is under a cyber attack, and the damage is unclear so far

The city of Pensacola is battling a cyber attack that might have compromised personal data, multiple outlets report.

City officials said the attack, which targeted Pensacola’s computer communication systems, began early Saturday morning.

Phones, email and some payment systems are reportedly all down at City Hall. They’re still unsure whether personal information has been exposed.

Emergency services and 911 were not affected.

It’s unclear whether the attack is linked to Friday morning’s fatal shooting at NAS Pensacola.

“We’re still trying to figure out what’s happened, what’s there and what there may be potential for,” Pensacola Mayor Grover Robinson told the Pensacola News Journal.
