She was 17 years old. A pimp just got more years for sex trafficking her in Miami
North Carolina pimp Willie Obadiah came to South Florida in February with a 17-year-old runaway he prostituted in two hotels, then raped.
Obadiah, 32, is back in downtown Miami, at the Federal Detention Center. He’ll be a federal prison resident for the next 19 years, seven months, the sentence he received Thursday for sex trafficking a minor.
The girl is back in North Carolina, where Obadiah’s admission of facts says he first met her in February through Facebook. He pimped women in North Carolina and saw an opportunity in the girl (referred to in court documents as “MV” for “minor victim”). After Obadiah used Facebook Messenger and text messages to learn she lived in a Greensboro foster home and had run away from her parents’ house, he began educating her on prostitution’s economics and customer relations.
The teen ran away from her foster home and joined Obadiah on Feb. 28. He made her see three men in Charlotte, the criminal complaint said, before bringing her to South Florida with his “family” of prostitutes. He advertised her company for sale online and stationed her in a Hialeah hotel, then a Miami hotel.
She saw four men before Obadiah forced her to service him with oral sex. The girl then ran away from Obadiah.
He was arrested on April 19 in North Carolina.
