One man is dead, and a woman is in the hospital after a shooting in Goulds

A man was killed Tuesday night and a woman was hospitalized in critical condition after a man shot them in Goulds in South Miami-Dade County.

The shooting happened in front of a house at SW 113th Place and SW 226th Street around 9:40 p.m.

The male victim, Clifton Mann, 23, died from his injuries at Jackson Memorial Hospital South. The woman, Ja’Milah Cornell, 20, was in the hospital being treated, Miami-Dade County Police Detective Argemis Colome said.

Police have not named the shooting suspect. The person and Mann got into a brief fight before the shots were fired, then the man left on his bicycle after felling Mann, Colome said.

“He is known to the victims,” said Colome.

Police were still looking for the man Wednesday afternoon and questioning people in the area about the crime.
