They tried to stop a robbery on the Venetian Causeway, police said. They ended up getting stabbed.
Two good Samaritans were attacked Monday night after trying to stop an alleged robber from taking another man’s bicycle and cell phone, according to Miami police.
The attack came after reports came in alerting police to a man “who was acting erratic in the roadway,” police said.
Kiara Delva, a spokeswoman for the department, said police were called to the area of 890 Venetian Causeway just after 7:30 p.m. Monday after a man began banging on a car in the road.
The man continued to walk eastbound on the causeway and then tried to rob another man of his bicycle and phone, Delva said.
Two people in the area saw the alleged robbery and stepped in, police said. That’s when the man attacked them. One of the victims had a stab wound and the other had a laceration, she said.
Both were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in stable condition.
The man is described as being “full of tattoos” and was last seen in a tank top and shorts.
