Police in Pembroke Pines received reports early Friday morning of a masked man who approached two women in public and masturbated in front of them until they called for help.

The first incident occurred around 1 a.m., when the suspect — a 5-foot 10-inch man dressed in black and wearing a ski mask — approached a woman as she unloaded items from her vehicle near The Avant at Pembroke Pines apartment complex and began to touch himself.

“The male was holding his pants with one hand and masturbating with the other,” Pembroke Pines police wrote in a public advisory. “The male did not make any statements to the female, nor did he attempt to touch or grab her.”

About two hours later, at 3 a.m., the same suspect crept up on a different woman as she walked through a parking lot near the complex, located at 11801 Pembroke Rd. The man was clothed but was “making the motion of masturbating and pointing to his genitals,” police said.

The man left after the victim, who had been on the phone with her boyfriend, screamed and told her boyfriend to call the police.

Police said the details of the incidents match those of a similar case from 2017 that happened in the same area.

“The Pembroke Pines Police Department is asking the public to always be aware of their surroundings, and to contact the police at 954-431-2200 if they can provide any additional information concerning these incidents,” the department said.
