The shooting reportedly happened in the 4300 block of Northwest 24th Avenue around 8 p.m. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took another victim to Ryder Trauma Center. Social media posts, including one from rap mogul and inner city youth football backer Luther Campbell, mourned Brooks’ death.
“Only thing Marquel do is go to work Monday through Friday,” his girlfriend Shalisa Williams told WPLG Channel 10. “Saturday, he’s at football. Sunday is family day. That’s it. That was his life.”
