Two high school students who attend classes at Florida International University’s Biscayne Bay Campus as part of MAST@FIU were assaulted Monday morning, according to a letter from the school posted on the university’s student media site PantherNow.com.

“The only details we have at this time were provided to FIU police by the victims,” the university said in the letter.

According to NBC6, the students were 15 and 16. The station said the students were working on a marine biology project when they were attacked. Both were seriously injured, according to NBC6.

Students were being asked to remain vigilant.
