A Miami-area man took several bullets — but the robbers didn’t take his wallet
Two criminals shot a Northeast Miami-Dade man several times in an overnight robbery attempt outside of his Ives Estates home, Miami-Dade police said.
But 62-year-old Dorrel Anderson kept both his wallet and his life.
According to Miami-Dade police, two men rolled up on Anderson around 1:50 a.m. as he got into his car outside his home in the 1300 block of Northeast 211th Terrace. They wanted Anderson’s wallet.
Anderson tried to drive away, but the would-be robbers’ bullets chased him down, striking Anderson in the “extremities,” police said. Anderson crashed. The robbers ran, but one fired back at Anderson, hitting him in the chest.
Miami-Dade Fire Rescue took Anderson to Aventura Hospital in stable condition.
