Police: Three hospitalized after suspect shoots two, injures one more in car crash

Hialeah police have apprehended a suspected shooter who officers say injured two people in Hialeah on Friday night before fleeing the scene and crashing his car into another vehicle, injuring one more.

The conditions of the patients were unknown late Friday. So, too, is the name of the suspect.

Lt. Eddie Rodriguez said officers responded first to the 900 block of East 31st Street, where two shooting victims were found, and then to the intersection of East Sixth Avenue and 41st Street, where the suspect wrecked their own car and injured the driver of the other vehicle.

All three victims were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Miami-Dade Fire Rescue said two victims were airlifted to the trauma center.

“Both scenes are very active and fluid in nature,” Rodriguez said. “We will not be releasing any further information, until the investigation progresses.”
