A robber stuck his fingers in the register. That's when the clerk made a quick move.
An inept armed robber tried to hit a Pompano Beach BP station and got caught with his fingers in the register — by force.
This slice of convenience store life from June 15 was caught on video released Monday by Broward Sheriff's Office.
Around 10 p.m., a six-foot man with dreads, a black head wrap, sweater and pants asks to buy something from behind the counter. When the cashier rings up the item, the criminal reveals his true intentions along with a gun. He reaches into the register, but the cashier quickly shuts the drawer on his digits.
Metacarpals mangled, the would-be robber retreated to a license plate-free dark gray Volkswagen Jetta and made a successful getaway from his failure.
Anyone who knows anything about this can contact BSO Detective Robert Sokol at 954-321-4547 or Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477) or via the Broward Crime Stoppers website.
